Tips to Improve Your Environment

  • Start to make one small change at a time

  • Switch to non-toxic cleaning products to minimize exposure to chemicals, including fragrances.

  • Switch to non-toxic personal care products.

    Check the EWG Skin Deep and EWG Sunscreen Guides to see ratings on different personal care products.

  • Open windows on nice days to allow fresh air to circulate

  • Consider investing in an air purifier for your home or work space

  • Switch to wooden cutting boards and wood or stainless-steel cooking utensils and ditch the plastic

  • For food storage, use glass storage containers (i.e. Mason jars) and beeswax wraps when possible

  • Use stainless steel beverage cups and water bottles rather than plastic.

  • If you use a tea kettle to boil water, look for one with a stainless-steel liner and components

  • Do what you can but don’t let it become stressful

  • Continue to learn
